Bell and Places for People Partnership to Bridge Digital Divide in Social Housing Communities.

4 months ago by Bell Group

We are excited to announce a pioneering collaboration with Places for People, a prominent provider of social housing solutions,  aimed at reducing the digital divide within social housing communities across the UK. This innovative partnership seeks to enhance digital inclusion and empowerment among residents by providing equitable access to the internet, technology, resources and training.

The initiative comes at a crucial time when digital connectivity has become more essential than ever, with the COVID-19 pandemic highlighting the disparities in access to technology and its profound impact on education, employment, and social well-being.

Through this partnership, Bell have developed and implemented a comprehensive device recycling program which will provide access to laptops, tablets and phones ensuring that residents have reliable access to online resources, education platforms, job opportunities and more. This sustainable approach not only reduces electronic waste but also ensures that no usable device goes to waste, providing residents with access to essential digital tools.

Places for People, with its extensive experience in community development and support services, will play a pivotal role in facilitating access to these resources, engaging residents, and nurturing a culture of digital inclusion within social housing communities.

This collaboration underscores the importance of reducing the digital divide in social housing communities. Access to technology and digital literacy skills are essential for individuals to access educational resources, employment opportunities, healthcare services, and social connections. By providing equitable access to internet, digital training programs, and implementing a device recycling program, this partnership aims to empower residents with the tools and knowledge needed to fully participate in the digital economy and lead fulfilling lives. This collaborative approach enables communities to address systemic barriers and create a more equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

We are thrilled to join forces with Places for People to address the digital divide in social housing communities. By leveraging our expertise in social value and access to suitable technology, we aim to empower our clients customers with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in the digital age. We are committed to creating inclusive and supportive communities wherever we work and ensure everyone has the opportunity to succeed by linking need to opportunity. Our partnership with PfP aligns perfectly with our mission, and we look forward to working together to bridge the digital divide and unlock new opportunities for communities across the UK .
