Our Social Value Strategy focuses on the societal issues that are a natural fit with our business: unemployment, inspiring young people, social inclusion, community regeneration and environmental issues. It is an integral part of our overall business strategy and is fully supported by Bell Group Directors and Senior Management.
Our local branches and Community Engagement Coordinators (CECs) work closely with our clients to ensure the effective delivery of social value across contracts, and beyond. Our Social Value team is led by our Community Engagement Manger who ensures that deadlines, targets, and activities are reflective of the community’s individual needs as well as fulfilling contractual requirements.
Our work in this area was recognised in HM Queen’s Elizabeth II’s 2019 Birthday Honours List when our Founder and Chairman, George Bell received an OBE for his commitment to communities and local employment.
We have always had a social conscience and tried to use the work that we do to make a positive impact. I see many businesses today trying to emulate us, but fundamentally, you have to believe in the work you are doing and it has to form part of the DNA of your business if you want to drive real change.
